Temper tantrums aren't bad behavior on your child's part. Instead, these outbursts are unplanned, unintentional displays of frustration and anger that happen, usually when a child is overtired. While preventing or eliminating triggers can go a long way, essential oils can help calm a stressed child. If your child bites, hits or kicks you or others during temper tantrums, an underlying psychological problem could be to blame. Seek professional help if your child frequently expresses uncontrollable rage.
Ylang-ylang essential oil helps the mind deal with disruptive emotions, replacing feelings of stress, frustration, and anger with relaxed calm. Diffuse ylang-ylang essential oil in the room where the child is having the tantrum. If you don't have a diffuser, make a simple room spray by combining 4 ounces of water with 24 drops of ylang-ylang essential oil. Use it as needed at home, in the car, and wherever you and your little one spends time.
