Insect bites bring itching, mild pain and redness with them; some are accompanied by swelling at bite site. Treat insect bites as soon as possible to minimize the irritation, and ensure that you refrain from scratching bite sites, as this can lead to infection while causing the poison that leads to itchiness to spread away from the bite site.
