Neat Basil Treatment:
Basil essential oil is both an anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic, making it and excellent muscle relaxant. When muscles are tired, inflamed, or cramping basil essential oil promotes rapid relaxation. If you are sensitive to basil or have sensitive skin, dilute the basil essential oil to as low as 11 percent oil to 4 parts carrier oil. Massage it into the affected area, the relax comfortably. Taking a hot bath or shower before application will intensify the effect.
Thyme essential oil is high in carvacrol, which is a type of phenol that works as a natural anti-inflammatory. This treatment can easily be doubled or tripled for use on a large area of inflamed tissue.
- 1 Tablespoon Carrier Oil
- 6 Drops Thyme Essential Oil
- In a small glass bowl, add the carrier oil and thyme essential oil, and stir to combine.
- Using your fingertips, apply the blend to the affected area, and massage it into the skin
- Repeat this treatment up to 3 times a day until the inflammation subside.
