Morning sickness typically occurs during the first trimester of pregnancy. and is marked by nausea and vomiting. Acupressure, avoiding triggers such as smells and foods that tend to lead to nausea, and eating bland foods can help, as can treatment with essential oils. Talk to your caregiver if morning sickness is severe and dehydration or weight loss is occurring. Hospitalization is occasionally required in the worst cases.
Ginger essential oil is safe for use during early pregnancy and is among the best essential oils for eliminating nausea. Diffuse it in the area where you spend most time and put 1 drop of it on your pillowcase each night. You may also use it in an aromatherapy pendant or simply put a few drops on a cotton ball and keep it nearby.

Spearmint essential oil is safe for inhalation during pregnancy and its aroma helps keep queasiness at bay.
- 8 Cups Boiling Water
- 12 Drops Spearmint Essential Oil
- In a shallow glass bowl, add the boiling water and spearmint essential oil, and stir to combine.
- Place the bowl near your bed ad bed time. The scent will gently waft throughout your bedroom and help promote a calm stomach.
- Repeat this treatment for 3 nights in a row; by the third morning, you should not feel nausea on awakening.
