Treatment of Urinary Tract Infection with Essential Oils

Urinary Tract Infection: 

The need to urinate urgently and frequently, pain or irritation when urinating, and cloudy or smelly urine am among the symptoms of a urinary tract infection. It's vital to address this condition immediately if you hope to treat it with essential oils. If the pain worsens or if a fever develops, contact your doctor. Bergamot Massage: 

MAKES 1 TREATMENT

Bergamot essential oil has strong antibiotic and antiseptic properties. It is easily absorbed into the body via massage. Use a warm compress after the massage for extra relief.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 Tablespoon Carrier Oil
  • 6 Drops Bergamot Essential Oil

Directions: 

  1. In a small glass bowl, add the carrier oil and bergamot essential oil, and stir to combine.
  2. Using your fingertips, apply the blend to the lower abdomen area, and massage it into the skin.
  3. Repeat this treatment 2 to 4 times a day for 4 days. However, if symptoms worsen after 1 day, stop this treatment and see a doctor.

Cedarwood Compress: 

MAKES 1 TREATMENT

Cedarwood essential oil is a strong antiseptic that sometimes helps stop urinary tract infections.it is not safe for ingestion and should be kept away from mucus membranes.

Ingredients: 

  • 6 Drops Cedarwood Essential Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Carrier Oil
  • 1 Pint Hot Water

Directions: 

  1. Using fingertips, apply the cedarwood essential oil to your lower abdomen, followed by the carrier oil.
  2. In a medium bowl, add the hot water.
  3. Submerge a towel in the water, wring it out, and apply the compress to the affected area. Leave the compress in place until it cools to body temperature.
  4. Repeat this treatment as needed.
